FFR Warmwater Surface Fly Contest

Here are the contestants for the Fiberglass Flyrodders Warmwater Surface Fly Contest. The contest prize is a Justin Case fly box from Cliff Outdoors. Voting will be open for just over two weeks. The poll closes July 15th. Please stuff a ballot for your favorite!

When voting ends and a winner is determined, Cameron will put ALL the flies submitted into the box and everything will be sent to the winner. WINNER TAKES ALL!!! Thanks again to Cliff Outdoors for donating the Justin Case box to the FFR forum.

The submitted flies were to be warmwater surface flies and fall within this definition - "foam, spun deer hair, over hackled, gaudy colored, topwater fly that the bass and bluegill just can't pass up" Here are the contestents. Please look them over and vote for your favorite at the bottom of the page.

Thanks so much to Cameron & Tom for hosting this contest. Guys, your efforts on this forum are greatly appreciated by all!!! And thank you to Matt at Cliff Outdoors for donating the really cool fly box...I know I'll make good use of it.
Thanks again for all who voted and participated.
I recently "discovered" a sweet looking little bass pond nearby and I can't wait to try these guys out on the water.

Congratulations Lou! It is a beautiful fly. Almost too beautiful to fish - almost.

Thank you to the other 11 tiers too. Those are some great looking flies also. I hope to see some Fly of the Week posts from our entries.

Congrats Lou! To all the submitters (?) Really nice ties one and all. I'm not a warmwater fisherman, but I was really impressed with quality and well imagine all will catch fish.

Catch and Release fishing is a lot like golf. You don't have to eat the ball to have a good time.

It would be fun to have the names of all the entry's. Especially #6. May I suggest the Orange Conehead Tickler, and for #2, the Psychedelic Fence Straddling FluffyTail. I voted for #1, can I buy one for my hat? Glenn

great flies all and would love to have them in my fly box. came down to #1 and #4 for me. the paint job on that popper was superb, and #1, what can you say, an absolutely beautiful fly.

#2 was also my favorite.
That's a nice Gartside Gurgler. Whoever tied it, I would like to know where you got that lolipop foam.

It came down to 1 or 4 for me as well and I went with 1. The gurgler though caught my attention and I would like to throw that over some browns at night. I use that patter in all black at night for browns where color doesn't matter too much but I dig that multi colored foam.
