First, take good photos of your tackle. A neutral background is better than very dark or very light. Put plenty of light on the subject - outside in open shade is great. Avoid direct sunlight or patches of sunlight (the photo will be washed out). If you must, trick your camera to focus by including a big barcode near the subject (crop out the barcode later). Use a tripod if you have it. Finally, transfer the photo to your computer.
Second, use your computer software to edit your photos to a "post friendly" size. Crop out extraneous stuff from your photo. Resize the photo to no wider than 750 pixels. 640 pixels is better. Save the photo as a .jpg file, preferably at a quality where the final file size is less than 100KB. Not everyone has a high speed connection or a 20" computer screen. Smaller photos download quicker and view easier. [Make sure you save your cropped and resized photo to a new name so you don't destroy your high-resolution original - Ron.]
Third, upload the file to a PhotoBucket account www.photobucket.com - you must register for a free account. [Photobucket.com gives you a free GB of storage - that's about 10,000 photos at the sizes we post here. - Ron.] Log into PhotoBucket. Click the "Browse" button and find the photo on your computer that you wish to upload. Select the photo and click the "Upload" button. Next link your PhotoBucket account to your Yuku profile. Click the "Account" button in the upper left corner of this page. In the box under your avatar, labeled "Settings", click the word "PhotoBucket". Click on the Photobucket heading and follow the prompts to link your accounts.
You can also upload your photos directly to Yuku. First, click on the word "Images" in the upper left of this page. Follow the prompts to create a "New Album". Click on the album and then "Upload File". Follow the prompts to upload your images to your Yuku album. Everyone gets a GB of storage space on Yuku.
Fourth, add your photo to your post. If you want a picture in PhotoBucket, click on the "camera icon" to the left of the smilie face on the icon bar above. This will bring up the contents of your PhotoBucket account and folders. Find your photo and double click. If you uploaded the photo to Yuku, click on the "moon and mountain icon" to the left of the camera. This will bring up your Yuku albums. Again, find your photo and double click.
